One of my favourite things about living in Portsmouth (apart from the beach!) is the wealth of local creative talent, and yesterday I was lucky enough to be able to pop along to the opening night of a photography exhibition by two of my favourite Portsmouth photographers, Charlotte de Quatrebarbes and Michael Mackenzie. I met both Charlotte and Michael about a year ago on some of the Strong Island photo walkshops and enjoy seeing the creative photographs they take – often conceptual and abstract, and always interesting – which definitely appeals to me as a designer!
The exhibition, titled Pieces of Portsmouth, features 20 photos taken by Charlotte & Michael around Portsmouth. Both of them are incredibly talented at finding beauty in shadows, reflections, textures and hidden details and I loved every single one of the photos they selected for the exhibition. Running from 5-14th October at The Teatray in Southsea, the exhibition is well worth visiting if you are a fan of all things Portsmouth and I will definitely be popping back for another look before it finishes.
All of the photos in the exhibition are available to buy in a limited, signed edition of 20 original prints, and all of the proceeds will be donated to the Life House, which is a local charity aiming to help homeless people in Portsmouth.
If you’re not already, make sure you’re following Charlotte and Michael on Instagram and if you have time to pop in to The Teatray to see their exhibition before 14 October, I would highly recommend it! 🙂
